Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Clifton Barnes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Daniels!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barnes gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Daniels drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Barnes gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Daniels tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Barnes's elbow.
Barnes crunches a lovely knee into Daniels's ribcage.
Barnes slows down the pace here.
Barnes stops a takedown attempt from Daniels.
Barnes using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Daniels has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Barnes misses with a knee strike.
Barnes unloads a knee to the mid-section. Daniels lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Barnes is stalling here.
Daniels misses with a punch on the inside.
Daniels goes for a takedown in the clinch but Barnes prevents it.
Clifton Barnes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Daniels.
A right handed body shot lands from Barnes.
Daniels tries to score a body lock takedown but Barnes shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Barnes misses with a body punch.

Barnes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Barnes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Barnes bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Barnes moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barnes tries to advance to mount but Daniels denies him.
Daniels tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Barnes wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
A lull in the action here.

Barnes swings around for an armbar but Daniels sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Barnes's guard.
Daniels stands and throws Barnes's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Barnes is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Barnes makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Barnes.

Daniels drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Barnes manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Daniels has Barnes in his guard.
Daniels looks gassed!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Daniels looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Barnes trying to control the position from guard on top but Daniels is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Barnes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Barnes is looking to stand up but Daniels won't let him.
Daniels looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Barnes connects with a couple of short punches.
Barnes trying to control but Daniels is working from the bottom.

Daniels had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Barnes is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Daniels Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Barnes's back instead.
Barnes trying to survive by controlling the hands.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Barnes turns into Daniels and is now in his guard.

Daniels looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Barnes is defending well. Daniels quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Barnes has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Daniels celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jack Daniels!
