The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mizuki gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Coture counters with a single leg into guard. Mizuki didn't expect that.
Coture tries to free his leg and advance position but Mizuki is retaining full guard.
Mizuki is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Mizuki is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Coture defends well.

Coture with a flurry of punches that miss.
Coture wants to control from the top but Mizuki keeps moving.
Coture is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Benny Coture hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Coture counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Coture pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mizuki is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Coture pushes down on Mizuki's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Mizuki is not content to let Coture control the position.
Coture throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Coture is looking for a kimura but Mizuki is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Coture to get the leverage.
Mizuki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Coture in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Mizuki tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Coture!
