The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nechvidov feints and as Mardischoko raises his hands in defense, Nechvidov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Nechvidov wants to get up but he can't break Mardischoko's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Mardischoko manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nechvidov manages to get himself to full guard.

It looks like Nik Nechvidov has been cut.

That has opened up Nik Nechvidov's cut even more.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Mardischoko looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Nechvidov can't hide his disappointment, as Mardischoko celebrates the victory.
