With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Patrick Gap!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gap has closed the distance and engaged Torre in a clinch.
Gap stops a takedown attempt from Torre.
Torre has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gap avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Torre wants a takedown but no success here.

Torre wants to get back to striking at distance but Gap won't allow it.

Gap drags the fight down to the ground.
Gap tries to land a sweep but no joy.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Torre is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Patrick Gap.
Gap tries to bum rush Torre with a series of wild strikes but Torre uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Torre has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gap is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Torre is pulling down on Gap's head. It's preventing any offense from Gap, at least for the moment.

Gap must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

It looks like Christian Torre has been cut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gap looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Gap tries to clinch but fails miserably

Torre postures up and lands a big shot to Gap's brow.

Torre throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gap works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Torre is not content to let Gap control the position.
Gap tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Torre wants to control but Gap postures up.

Gap postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Gap decides to stand back up. Gap steps back and let's Torre get back to his feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Torre decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gap's guard.

Torre looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gap with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Gap is positioning himself well to prevent Torre advancing to mount.
Christian Torre overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Torre thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gap's head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Torre is trying to control the position but Gap postures up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gap tries to stand but Torre is controlling his head.

Gap stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Torre looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gap lands with a nice body punch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gap changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Torre tries to avoid it but Gap manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Torre to the ground. Torre escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gap shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Torre as he jumps to the side.
Torre doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gap counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Torre is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Gap throws a series of punches but Torre avoids them all with ease.
Gap tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Torre manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gap lands a high kick!
Gap lands with an uppercut that bounces Torre off the cage and back into rage.
Torre has his takedown stuffed

and Gap counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gap.
Torre prevents the takedown attempt.

Gap is pressed up against the cage. Torre has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gap down to the mat. Gap avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Gap counters with a nice double leg into side control. Torre won't be happy with that.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Gap decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Gap.

Gap instigates a clinch.

Gap breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gap throws a right and a left that both miss.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gap pushes Torre up against the cage in a clinch.
Torre fails to pull guard.

Gap breaks the clinch.
Gap comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

And that's the end of the fight!
Patrick Gap comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Gap has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
