The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Speed as he jumps to the side.
Smith gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Speed counters with a low kick, right behind Smith 's knee.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Speed misses with a head kick.
John Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Speed counters with a head kick that drops Smith to the mat! Smith scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Speed is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Speed looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Speed backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Smith's temple! It sends Smith violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Speed celebrates and the doctors try to help Smith!
