Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sam Hain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Captain Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hain's entrance music is Time Frame by Dom and Roland. A fine choice. Captain Murphy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Hain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Captain Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy keeps the fight on the outside.
Hain throws an off balance right hand
and Murphy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hain swings widly with a right hand
and Murphy counters with a stiff right hand.
Murphy throws a head kick but Hain moves out of range.
Murphy misses with a left hand
and Murphy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Murphy on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hain. Hain obviously looking to wear him down.
Murphy checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Hain thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hain tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Murphy was well out of range. Poor timing from Hain.

Murphy misses with a right hand
and Hain cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hain slips a jab from Murphy.
Hain throws a right hand that misses

so Murphy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hain keeping moving, preventing Murphy from controlling successfully.
Hain is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hain bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Murphy's guard.
Hain working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Murphy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hain defends it easily.
Murphy keeping full guard, as Hain tries to pass.
Hain throws and elbow that misses. Murphy uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hain's guard. Nice move by Murphy!
Hain throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Hain keeping moving, preventing Murphy from controlling successfully.

Murphy thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hain will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Murphy is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hain is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hain has escaped and now he's on top!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hain's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Hain slips nicely into half guard.
Murphy is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hain scores with a couple of nice shots.
Hain winds up and cracks Murphy with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hain trying to control from Murphy's half guard. Murphy has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hain working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Hain slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Hain working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Murphy takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Murphy regains half guard there - taking advantage of Hain's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hain missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sam Hain dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Murphy avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Murphy misses with a left hand

and Hain counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Murphy!

Murphy is wriggling around trying to escape.
Hain misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hain throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Murphy because Hain loaded up on that one.

Murphy avoids a series of strikes thrown by Hain.
Hain raining down shots from the mount!
The referee warns Murphy that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Murphy is squirming around, avoiding Hain's attempts to control the action.
Murphy working to try and regain half guard.
Hain lands a nice shot to the head.
Hain with a couple of short strikes.

Murphy is desperately trying to improve his position but Hain has a good base and remains in mount.
Hain misses with a head shot.
Hain lands a big shot there that rocks Murphy but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
A nice elbow there by Hain.
Murphy wants to control but Hain is having none of it.
BOOM! Hain connects with a massive shot to the dome!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hain scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Murphy?
Hain throwing strikes here but Murphy is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Murphy takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Murphy avoids a series of strikes thrown by Hain.
Murphy slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Hain is trying to control. Murphy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Hain thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Murphy's head.
Hain thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Murphy to regain full guard.
Hain content to stall in guard here.
Hain is in close to Murphy's body, working some short punches and elbows.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Murphy is looking to sinch up a triangle. Hain throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Murphy's body to avoid the submission. Murphy has instead reached around Hain's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Murphy arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Captain Murphy!
