Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Desmond Claymore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeb Russell!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russell leaves Claymore with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Claymore gets a double leg takedown into Russell's guard.
Claymore throws a big right hand that misses.
Russell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Russell not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Claymore throwing strikes but missing.
Claymore stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Russell swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Claymore stops Russell from standing up.
Claymore postures up.
Claymore trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Russell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Claymore is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Russell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Claymore gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Claymore connects with a couple of short punches.
Claymore trying to stand up but can't free himself from Russell's guard.
Russell is pulling down on Claymore's head. It's preventing any offense from Claymore, at least for the moment.
Claymore throws a strike but Russell rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Russell gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Russell misses with a jab, cross combination.
Russell tries to clinch but Claymore moves out of range.
Claymore shoots in looking for a takedown. Russell tries to sprawl out of it but Claymore keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Russell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Russell defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Claymore.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Desmond Claymore. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Russell scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.


It looks like Desmond Claymore has been cut.
Jeb Russell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Claymore throws a lazy head kick
and Russell counters with a slapping leg kick.
Claymore is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Russell is looking to slow Claymore down with leg kicks.

Claymore takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Russell throws a sloppy head kick and Claymore moves out of range easily.
Russell wants to clinch.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Russell.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Russell wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Jeb Russell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice body kick from Russell.
Russell is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Russell throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Claymore's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Russell dives in looking to finish as Claymore flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Russell's strikes! Russell is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Claymore's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Claymore was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jeb Russell!
