Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricco El Suave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Axon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
El Suave leaves Axon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Axon closes this distance looking for a takedown but El Suave circles away.

Ricco El Suave has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Axon.
Axon closes the distance and clinches up with El Suave, looking for a takedown. Axon pushes El Suave against the cage but El Suave circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

El Suave displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Axon.

Axon takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
El Suave connects with a looping right hand.
El Suave cracks Axon with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

El Suave gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Axon to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Axon stands and steps away. El Suave gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Axon shoots in looking for a takedown but El Suave manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Axon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and El Suave connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Ricco El Suave is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Axon tries for a takedown but El Suave sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
El Suave thuds his right hand into Axon's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
El Suave scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
El Suave comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
El Suave ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Axon is defended easily by El Suave.

Axon has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts El Suave, as that shot connected.
El Suave goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Axon takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ricco El Suave dominated that round.

Axon is trying hard to land a takedown here. El Suave sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
El Suave fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Axon shoots for a double leg takedown but El Suave sprawls well. He's pushed Axon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
El Suave bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Axon's head backwards.
El Suave looks to land a combination but Axon avoids it well.
Ricco El Suave is winning the standup battle so far.

Axon closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into El Suave's guard.

El Suave is trying to keep Axon in close.
Axon is breathing heavily.

Axon is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Axon tries to move to mount but El Suave blocks the move with his legs.
Axon throws an elbow but El Suave slips to the side and avoids it well.

El Suave is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Axon has an Americana. El Suave didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Axon is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Axon hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
