PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Borgia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Thunder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thunder has chosen Wu Tang Clan Ain't Nuthin' To F*ck With as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Borgia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Thunder!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borgia scores with a three punch combo!
Borgia tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Thunder counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Thunder keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Thunder works his way into full mount!
Borgia has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Borgia is trying to get back to his feet but Thunder has full control of the position and if anything, Borgia has just worked his way into a worse spot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thunder controls the action.
Thunder's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dan Thunder.
A looping hook to the body misses from Borgia. Thunder does a little dance to reset his feet.

Thunder closes the distance and clinches.
Thunder blocks an uppercut.
Thunder tries to pull guard but Borgia holds him up against the cage and eventually Thunder drops back down to his feet.

Thunder turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Thunder manages to end up in side control.
Borgia takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Borgia takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Thunder just content to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Borgia is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Borgia bucks up and tries to throw Thunder off but instead Thunder has got his back!
Thunder is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Thunder dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Thunder moves out of range of the strikes.
Borgia thows a leg kick but Thunder checks it

and Thunder counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Ground and pound from Thunder.
Borgia knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thunder on the ground.
Thunder prevents Borgia from standing back up.
Borgia tries to kick Thunder off in order to stand up. Thunder Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
You can see the frustration on Borgia's face as Thunder controls the position.

Thunder decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Thunder closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Borgia's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thunder stays in close to Borgia's body and controls the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Borgia wants to get back to his feet but Thunder passes into half guard.
Thunder with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dan Thunder.
Thunder misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Borgia.

Thunder closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Borgia to the mat! Borgia manages to get full guard.
Thunder postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Thunder seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Thunder is in close to Borgia's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Thunder stays in close to Borgia's body and controls the position.

Thunder drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Thunder as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Borgia screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Thunder! Nice submission victory there!
