Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fred Garrido!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Gordon!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garrido fails with the takedown

Gordon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Garrido is just riding it out for now. Gordon eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Garrido drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gordon manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Garrido has Gordon in his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Joe Gordon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Garrido drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gordon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gordon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gordon!

Gordon moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Garrido has worked his arm free - good work by Garrido!
Garrido tries to buck Gordon off but Gordon is having none of it.

Gordon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gordon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Garrido is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gordon off and has taken his back!
Garrido controlling well, preventing Gordon from escaping the position.

Gordon is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Fred Garrido.
Well Gordon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
