Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Leeroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Hawke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce Leeroy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bruce Leeroy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mike Hawke!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Viktor Lagutenko and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hawke shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Leeroy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hawke throws a big right hand that misses.
Hawke postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Hawke stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Leeroy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hawke has his takedown stuffed
and Leeroy counters with a head kick.
Leeroy tries to clinch up.
Leeroy fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hawke has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hawke shoots for a double leg takedown but Leeroy sprawls well. He's pushed Hawke's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hawke feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Bruce Leeroy has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Hawke closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Leeroy quickly recovers to half guard.
Hawke wants to advance to full mount but Leeroy doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Hawke is looking to work some ground and pound but Leeroy has wrist control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hawke accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hawke stands up over Leeroy, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bruce Leeroy will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Leeroy connects with a leg kick. Hawke looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hawke is looking to work some ground and pound but Leeroy has wrist control.
Hawke slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Bruce Leeroy wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
