Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Bulman!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Draybil Guetzlaff!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guetzlaff throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bulman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Guetzlaff is in Bulman's guard.
Bulman wants to sweep here but Guetzlaff controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Draybil Guetzlaff hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Bulman shoots in and gets a takedown into Guetzlaff's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bulman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Guetzlaff looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Guetzlaff controls Bulman momentarily but Bulman frees himself.

Bulman wants to control from the top but Guetzlaff keeps moving.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Guetzlaff isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Bulman stacks Guetzlaff on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Bulman!

Bulman is stalling here. Guetzlaff is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bulman seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Guetzlaff has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
