The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Connen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Connen throws a right and a left that Slater avoids nicely.
A slow jab from Slater misses its intended target.
Connen lands a left and a right that send Slater crashing to the mat, dazed. Connen thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Billy Slater has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Connen sends Slater crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Connen is motioning to the referee to let Slater up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Connen is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Slater's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Connen throws a lazy right hand but Slater sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Slater loses concentration momentarily and Connen pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Slater crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Connen finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
