The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Hume. Petrovich shrugs it off though.
Petrovich leaves Hume with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Petrovich thows a body shot but no joy.
Hume shoots in for a takedown but Petrovich shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hume tries to close the distance and clinch but Petrovich swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hume.
Hume tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Petrovich swivels and escapes.

Petrovich slaps away a takedown attempt from Hume, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hume will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Desmond Hume seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hume tries to score a power double leg takedown but Petrovich sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hume somewhat.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hume is defended easily by Petrovich.
Hume misses with a takedown attempt - Petrovich sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Petrovich is staying active underneath Hume, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Petrovich tries to roll over but Hume keeps him under control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Petrovich can do anything to dispel that myth.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Petrovich takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Petrovich stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Petrovich wants it to stay on the feet.
Hume is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hume.
Hume thuds a left hand into Petrovich's body.
Petrovich takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hume looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Hume is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Hume thows a huge punch but Petrovich dodges it nicely.
Hume lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Hume tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Hume just content to control the position.
Petrovich takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Hume dives in and grabs Petrovich's left leg, looking for a takedown. Petrovich pushes down on Hume's head and hops out.
