The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ericson throws a lazy uppercut

and Meeuwis counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Meeuwis tries to free his leg and advance position but Ericson is retaining full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

That's time! Meeuwis 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Meeuwis takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Meeuwis misses with a takedown attempt - Ericson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ericson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Meeuwis is defended easily by Ericson.

Guus Meeuwis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Meeuwis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ericson defends it nicely.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

We're going to have a standup here because Guus Meeuwis wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
