Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eusebio Alunan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Shirwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shirwin has chosen Still Standing - Hilltop Hoods as his entrance music. Steve Shirwin is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shirwin looking to score a takedown here. Alunan is defending well but Shirwin drives through and ends up in Alunan's guard.
Shirwin throws a big right hand that misses.

Alunan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Shirwin looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shirwin looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shirwin!
Alunan sneaks back into half guard.
Shirwin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alunan keeps working.
Alunan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shirwin is working away from the top position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Eusebio Alunan has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Alunan tries to close the distance and clinch but Shirwin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Shirwin shoots in and gets a takedown into Alunan's guard.
Shirwin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Alunan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Shirwin manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Shirwin has control of Alunan's left arm, preventing Alunan from doing any damage.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Alunan wants to clinch up but Shirwin keeps it at a distance.

and Shirwin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Alunan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shirwin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Shirwin.
Steve Shirwin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Alunan wants to clinch but Shirwin slips to the side
enabling Shirwin to counter with a crisp jab.

Steve Shirwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alunan tries a head kick but it misses.

and Shirwin counters with a shoot takedown. Alunan fights it but they end up in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alunan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shirwin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Shirwin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alunan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shirwin stays in close to Alunan's body and controls the position.
Let's hope that Shirwin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Alunan is on top in guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Alunan won't allow Shirwin to sweep him here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Shirwin counters with a single leg into guard. Alunan didn't expect that.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Alunan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shirwin is aware though and is defending well.
Shirwin wants to control from the top but Alunan keeps moving.

Steve Shirwin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Alunan moves out of range as Shirwin throws a body kick.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Alunan tries to clinch but Shirwin moves out of range.

Shirwin digs a right hand underneath Alunan's ribcage. Alunan let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Shirwin lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Alunan has had enough of the clinch but Shirwin keeps him there for the moment.
Shirwin is pressed up against the cage. Alunan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Shirwin down to the mat. Shirwin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Shirwin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Alunan moves away.
Shirwin shoots in but Alunan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Shirwin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shirwin throws a right and a left that both miss.

Alunan lands a nice shot to the body.
Alunan moves to clinch but Shirwin breaks away

and Shirwin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Alunan won't be happy with that.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Steve Shirwin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Alunan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Shirwin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Shirwin's back!

Alunan is working for a rear naked choke. Shirwin is not defending it well and Alunan has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Shirwin refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Shirwin's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
