Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hines Parker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kalevi Sorsa! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parker throws a head kick that misses and Sorsa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Parker wants to clinch. Parker avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sorsa changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Sorsa keeps the fight on the outside. Parker rushes Sorsa and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Sorsa takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Parker taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Parker is looking to break free of the clinch but Sorsa has double underhooks. Parker is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Parker swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Parker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Parker checks the leg kick. Parker tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Sorsa counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Parker tries to clinch there but Sorsa circles away.
Parker wants to clinch and Sorsa cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Parker misses with a two punch combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Parker tries to clinch up letting Sorsa counter with a right hand. A decent looking body kick lands there for Sorsa. Nice uppercut there from Sorsa. Parker doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sorsa counters with a nice double leg into side control. Parker won't be happy with that. Sorsa happy to just control the position for now. Sorsa is chipping away with strikes.
Parker is trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sorsa landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Sorsa is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Parker's shoulder. That is not cool. Parker tries to get back to half guard but can't. Parker bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sorsa tries to keep at a distance but Parker has taken the fight into the clinch. Sorsa misses with a punch to the body.
Sorsa wants to get back to striking at distance but Parker won't allow it.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Parker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sorsa looks for the body kick but Parker saw that one coming. Sorsa throws a lazy uppercut
and Parker counters with a three punch combo that has Sorsa backing up. Sorsa nods at Parker to acknowledge the strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Parker throws a wild combination but nothing lands. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sorsa throws a body kick that misses. Sorsa misses with an attempted mid kick.
Hines Parker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Parker tries to clinch up and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kalevi Sorsa dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Parker wants to clinch up but Sorsa keeps it at a distance. The fight moves into the clinch position. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Parker breaks from the clinch.
Parker closes the distance looking to clinch and Parker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Sorsa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Sorsa throws an off balance right hand
and Parker counters by clinching up. Parker breaks the clinch.
The fighters circle momentarily. Sorsa darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Parker tries for a takedown but Sorsa sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Parker moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Parker tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sorsa sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Parker somewhat. Parker is looking to clinch but Sorsa is avoiding it.
Sorsa throws a right hand that misses
and Parker counters with a straight right hand. Parker misses with a shot to the body and Sorsa counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Sorsa tries to bum rush Parker with a series of wild strikes but Parker uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Sorsa circles away from the clinch attempt.
Parker throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Parker fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hines Parker. That's going to take a lot out of him. Parker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Sorsa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Parker was well out of range. Poor timing from Sorsa. Parker tries to clinch up and Sorsa counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Sorsa blocks a head kick by Parker.

Parker closes the distance but Sorsa moves to the side and Sorsa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Parker looks to clinch and Sorsa counters with a straight right hand. Sorsa with a jab. Sorsa throws a low kick but it's checked well by Parker. Sorsa throws a one two combo.

Parker tries to bench press Sorsa off him but Sorsa keeps the position. This has been an exciting period of action! Parker is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sorsa asserts his dominance and retains side control. Sorsa working the body and head with strikes. Parker is looking to reverse the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Parker is working hard here to advance position. Sorsa cracks Parker with an elbow. That is naaassty. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kalevi Sorsa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Parker shoots in and drives through. Sorsa sprawls well. Parker slips under a jab. Sorsa shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Parker eats them both and turns towards Sorsa to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Parker dives in and grabs Sorsa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sorsa pushes down on Parker's head and hops out. Parker wants to clinch but Sorsa slips to the side and Sorsa counters with a straight punch to the midsection. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Parker is defended easily by Sorsa. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hines Parker. That's going to take a lot out of him. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. A body shot lands from Sorsa.

and Parker counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Parker thows a big elbow that misses. Hines Parker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parker drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sorsa dives on top into guard. Parker is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sorsa is controlling him. Sorsa trying to control the position from guard on top but Parker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Parker is looking to stand up but Sorsa isn't so interested in that idea. Sorsa controlling from the top position. Parker on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Parker tries to get out of the position. Sorsa stops Parker from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parker is trying to hold Sorsa in close to prevent damage but Sorsa has managed to pass into half guard.
Sorsa wants to pass to mount but Parker is defending the position. Parker looks like he's trying to stand up.
Sorsa works his foot free and advances to mount. Kalevi Sorsa has got the better of the ground game so far. Parker is trying to stand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sorsa lands with some strikes. Parker is trying to stand. Sorsa working away from the top, dropping strikes. Sorsa scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Sorsa lands a nice shot to the head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sorsa has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Parker's face.
BOOM! Sorsa connects with a massive shot to the dome!
And that's the end of the fight! Kalevi Sorsa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Sorsa winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
