PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Stampler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrey Eremenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aaron Stampler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrey Eremenko!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stampler gets the takedown into side control.

Stampler decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Stampler shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Eremenko's guard.
Stampler trying to control the position from guard on top but Eremenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Stampler preventing the sweep.
Eremenko trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Eremenko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Eremenko wants to get back to his feet but Stampler is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eremenko thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Eremenko looks gassed!
Eremenko wants to sweep but no luck.

Stampler drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stampler jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Eremenko slips a jab and a cross from Stampler.

and Stampler counters with a shoot takedown. Eremenko fights it but they end up in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stampler lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stampler pushing down on Eremenko's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Eremenko looks like he's trying to stand up.
Eremenko is looking to improve his position.
Stampler thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Eremenko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Stampler controlling the pace.
Eremenko tries to roll over but Stampler keeps him under control.
Eremenko gets full guard.
Stampler slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Eremenko looking for a sweep but Stampler has passed into full mount! Oh no!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stampler looking to control but Eremenko is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Eremenko tries to improve his position but instead Stampler has taken his back!
Stampler cracks Eremenko with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Eremenko from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Stampler is trying to stick to Eremenko's back but Eremenko is turning into Stampler. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Stampler's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Eremenko.
Eremenko won't allow Stampler to sweep him here.

Eremenko has gone for a leg lock! Stampler slips out almost immediately though and dives into Eremenko's guard.

Stampler gets to his feet. Eremenko looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Eremenko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Eremenko tries to stand but Stampler is controlling from the bottom.
Eremenko is in close to Stampler's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Stampler lands an upkick as Eremenko stands over him.

Stampler keeping full guard, as Eremenko tries to pass.
Eremenko trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Stampler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Eremenko doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Stampler is tightening it up a little... Eremenko has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Eremenko reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Eremenko taps out! nice BJJ there by Stampler!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Aaron Stampler!
