PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lewis McLay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Khara Al Matayze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLay kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is "The Party Song" by Blink 182. Khara Al Matayze has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lewis McLay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Khara Al Matayze!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLay showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Al Matayze.
Al Matayze tries to bum rush McLay with a series of wild strikes but McLay uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Al Matayze closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
McLay has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Al Matayze is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
McLay really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

McLay wants the takedown. Al Matayze is fighting it off but McLay persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Al Matayze's guard against the cage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Al Matayze is looking for a triangle but McLay pushes his legs off easily.

Al Matayze is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

McLay with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Al Matayze escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McLay gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Al Matayze will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Al Matayze is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but McLay has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Al Matayze is looking to defend but McLay has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Al Matayze! McLay pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Al Matayze taps out and this one is all over!
