Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan van der Burgt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Azevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). van der Burgt's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Niko Ahvonen - Onnen Ongintaa . Jonathan van der Burgt could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jose Azevedo's chin.

The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
van der Burgt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

van der Burgt scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Azevedo tries to bench press van der Burgt off him but van der Burgt keeps the position.

van der Burgt is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Azevedo has escaped the position, nice work there.
van der Burgt looking to control but instead Azevedo has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Azevedo won't allow van der Burgt to pass to mount.
van der Burgt stops Azevedo from getting back to his feet.

Azevedo wants to hold on but van der Burgt pushes him away.

van der Burgt is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Azevedo has managed to escape the submission attempt.

van der Burgt swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Azevedo is now in van der Burgt's guard. A big mistake from van der Burgt there, giving up the dominant position!

Azevedo wants to control from the top but van der Burgt keeps moving.
Azevedo wants to pass the guard but van der Burgt is keeping the position.
Azevedo wants to stand and escape but instead van der Burgt has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

van der Burgt has gone for a leg lock! Azevedo slips out almost immediately though and dives into van der Burgt's guard.
van der Burgt is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

van der Burgt seems to be working for a kimura but Azevedo defends the submission attempt.

Azevedo pushes van der Burgt off and gets back to his feet.
Azevedo slips a jab from van der Burgt.

van der Burgt shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Azevedo napping and manages to drive through into side control!

van der Burgt wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Azevedo, who protects the arm well.

van der Burgt looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
van der Burgt wants to control for a moment but Azevedo uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
van der Burgt is pressing down on Azevedo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Azevedo is holding on for now.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Azevedo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but van der Burgt manages to avoid it.
van der Burgt blocks a head kick by Azevedo.
Azevedo misses with a looping right.
van der Burgt fails with the takedown.
Azevedo throws a nice looking combination but van der Burgt bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Azevedo drops his hands momentarily and van der Burgt takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
van der Burgt slips under a jab.
Azevedo has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from van der Burgt finds it's way round the side to connect with Azevedo's head.
van der Burgt throws out a powerful jab.
Azevedo jabbing away but nothing is landing.
van der Burgt misses with an uppercut
and Azevedo counters with a left to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Azevedo tries to bum rush van der Burgt with a series of wild strikes but van der Burgt uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A punch combination from Azevedo misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

van der Burgt throws a hook to the side of Azevedo's head but Azevedo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A combination from Azevedo does no damage.
Good work by van der Burgt as he checks the leg kick.

Jose Azevedo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
van der Burgt changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Azevedo tries to avoid it but van der Burgt manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Azevedo to the ground. Azevedo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Azevedo connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed van der Burgt momentarily.

It looks like Jonathan van der Burgt has been cut.
van der Burgt looks to clinch

and Azevedo counters with a crisp one two that drops van der Burgt! Azevedo thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves van der Burgt to his feet! van der Burgt is in big trouble!

van der Burgt is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
van der Burgt moves out of range of the strikes.
Oh van der Burgt is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
van der Burgt ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
van der Burgt seems to have got his legs back now.
van der Burgt moves away from the strike by Azevedo.
Azevedo stuffs the takedown attempt from van der Burgt. van der Burgt gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonathan van der Burgt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Azevedo looks to land a left hand but van der Burgt moved out of range nicely.
