PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Logan Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Konrad Franczyk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Armstrong comes to the cage accompanied by Walk. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Armstrong shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Franczyk is trying to defend but Armstrong finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Armstrong stops Franczyk from getting back to his feet.
Armstrong missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Armstrong with the ground and pound but Franczyk uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Franczyk throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Armstrong wants to pass the guard but Franczyk is keeping the position.

Franczyk escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Armstrong gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Armstrong knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Franczyk on the ground.
Franczyk is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Armstrong accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Konrad Franczyk hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Armstrong moves out of range of the strikes.

Armstrong shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Armstrong was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Franczyk has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Franczyk tries to hold on but Armstrong postures up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Armstrong looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Franczyk covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
