Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiroki Ishakima!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Fujiwara and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ishakima throws a right and a left that Jones avoids nicely.
Ishakima leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ishakima dips to his left and cracks Jones with an uppercut!

Ishakima clobbers Jones with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


It looks like James Jones has been cut.
Ishakima throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.

and Ishakima counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Jones shoots in for a takedown but Ishakima shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ishakima pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Jones back to the cage. Ishakima follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
James Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jones sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Ishakima is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Ishakima wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
You can see the frustration on Ishakima's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones passes Ishakima's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Ishakima has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jones is working away from the top position though.
Ishakima makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ishakima.
Ishakima is pulling down on Jones's head. It's preventing any offense from Jones, at least for the moment.

Ishakima is working an open guard so Jones takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jones moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Hiroki Ishakima is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
No joy there for Ishakima, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

I would just about give that final round to Hiroki Ishakima.
