Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Death Row!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyrone Harris!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Row fails with the takedown
and Harris counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Row misses with a body shot
enabling Harris to counter with a crisp jab.
Row with a lazy takedown attempt
and Harris counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Row misses with a body kick.

Harris shoots in and gets a takedown into Row's guard.

Harris gets to his feet - Row follows without any prompting.
Row tries for a takedown but Harris circles away easily

and Harris counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Death Row. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Row controls Harris momentarily but Harris frees himself.
Harris is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harris stands and steps away. Row gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Harris closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Harris landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
A lull in the action here.
It looks like Harris might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Harris creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Harris decides to stand back up. Harris steps back and let's Row get back to his feet.

Harris has managed to clinch.

Harris escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Harris shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Harris showed some decent athleticism there.
Row is breathing heavily.
Harris content to control rather than advance.
Row wants to control but Harris is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Harris content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tyrone Harris hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Row doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Harris counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Row!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Harris is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Row is forced to tap! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tyrone Harris!
