Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Ripper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Raimo Tikkari!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ripper misses with a looping left.

and Ripper counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Raimo Tikkari has been cut.

and Tikkari counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Raimo Tikkari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Ripper lands a left and a right that send Tikkari crashing to the mat, dazed. Ripper thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Ripper will probably get the nod.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ripper stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Tikkari.
Tikkari tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ripper manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ripper avoids the head kick by Tikkari.
Tikkari ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ripper moves away.
Tikkari tries to bum rush Ripper with a series of wild strikes but Ripper uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ripper throws a shot from downtown. Tikkari moves away and avoids it.

Tikkari is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ripper.
Tikkari throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Ripper counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Ripper counters with a three punch combo that has Tikkari backing up. Tikkari nods at Ripper to acknowledge the strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Raimo Tikkari showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well Tikkari has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
