Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Renato Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akuma Pjiton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves comes to the cage accompanied by Ultimate Victory. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renato Alves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Akuma Pjiton! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pjiton closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pjiton lands in his opponent's guard. Pjiton has gone for a leg lock! Alves slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pjiton's guard. Pjiton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Alves defends it easily. Alves decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Alves tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Pjiton counters with a single leg into guard. Alves didn't expect that. Pjiton drops back, looking for a kneebar! Alves looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Alves looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Alves!
That's one minute gone in the round. Pjiton wants to get back to his feet but Alves drags him back down. Alves remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Pjiton is trying to improve his position. Pjiton is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Pjiton looking for a sweep but Alves has passed into full mount! Oh no!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Alves tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Pjiton bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Pjiton throws a strike but Alves rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Pjiton has an active guard here but Alves has managed to pass into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pjiton has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Alves escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Alves! Pjiton regains half guard. Alves is figuring out what he wants to do next. Alves moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Pjiton. Pjiton tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Alves presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alves looking to control and managing it successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Renato Alves will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Alves wants to clinch and Pjiton counters by moving into the clinch. Alves is trying to drag Pjiton to the mat but Pjiton just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Pjiton has Alves pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Pjiton pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Alves tumbling to the mat - Pjiton dives into Alves's guard. Alves is looking for a triangle here but Pjiton uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Alves dodges the ground and pound from Pjiton.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pjiton sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Alves is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Pjiton goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Alves has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Pjiton but great work by Alves. Alves decides to stand back up. Pjiton scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Pjiton lands an elbow. Pjiton blocks the strikes from Alves.
Alves manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Alves looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Pjiton thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Pjiton seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Alves is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
