Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jim Noga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bill Ward!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward throws a sloppy body shot
and Noga counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Noga gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Noga lands a takedown into guard.
Ward looking to hit a scissor sweep but Noga is one step ahead there.

Ward has his foot on Noga's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Noga works his way back into a safe position though.
Noga in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Ward is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Noga is controlling him.
Ward keeping moving, preventing Noga from controlling successfully.

Noga controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jim Noga wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Ward misses with a takedown

and Noga counters by moving into the clinch.
Noga gets underhooks to prevent Ward's takedown attempt.

Noga lands a takedown into guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Noga looking to pass the guard.
Noga won't allow Ward to get back to his feet.
Noga wants to control from the top but Ward keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ward bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Noga's guard.
Ward wants to pass the guard but Noga is keeping the position.
Ward would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Noga looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Ward passes into side control.
Noga is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Ward is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Noga is looking to get to half guard.

Ward trying to control but Noga is having none of it.
Noga wants to control but Ward is having none of it.
Ward looking to control but Noga is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Ward thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ward avoids the attempt from Noga to control.
Ward scoring with strikes but Noga is staying in there.
Ward throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Noga is squirming around, avoiding Ward's attempts to control the action.
Noga wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Ward.
Noga is looking to get to half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Ward trying to control but Noga is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Noga dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Noga gets a takedown into half guard.
Ward trying to hold on to Noga's head to control him but Noga postures up.
Ward is staying active underneath Noga, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Ward tries to kick Noga off but Noga keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Ward manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Ward gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Noga counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Noga.

Noga preventing the sweep.
Noga wants to control from the top but Ward keeps moving.
Ward is trying to keep Noga in close.
Noga has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ward is proving hard to escape from.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Ward is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Noga has his hands clasped together but Ward extends an breaks Noga's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Ward.
