Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mirko Boban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinnie Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boban comes to the cage accompanied by Ana Tijoux - 1977. Price has chosen The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army as his entrance music. Mirko Boban had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mirko Boban! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vinnie Price! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Price finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Price leaves Boban with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Boban thows a body shot but no joy. Price throws a hook to the side of Boban's head but Boban sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Price lands a nice shot that snaps Boban's head back.
Price scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Boban moves in looking to clinch but Price pushes him off. Price uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Boban. Boban shoots in but no luck this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Price throws a looping overhand right but Boban ducks down to avoid it. Price looks to score with a jab to the body but Boban is just out of range. Price getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Price ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Price throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Price misses with a head kick.
Price takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Boban tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Price was well out of range. Poor timing from Boban. Boban throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Price missing with a left hand there. Boban was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Price throws a nice outside leg kick. Price keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Price throws a quick inside leg kick. Price moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Boban takes one to the chin there. Price scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Price trying to control the action but Boban is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Boban's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Boban being controlled for a moment. Boban gets back to half guard. Boban trying to control from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boban is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Boban wants to get back to full guard. Well, if Price is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Price misses with a right hand and Boban counters with a leg kick. Price lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Boban circles away quickly and effectively. Price throws a sloppy body shot
and Boban counters with a body kick. Boban throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Price counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Boban wants to clinch up but Price keeps it at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Price looks to score with a jab to the body but Boban is just out of range. Boban misses with a hook. Price ducked under it nicely. Price lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Boban needs to keep his hands up - Price had a free shot at his head there. Price thows a left - swing and a miss! A low kick from Boban is predictable there and Price counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Price is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Boban had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Price takes a swing at Boban's ribcage but misses. Boban uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Price.

Nice uppercut lands for Price. That snapped Boban's head back.
Price throws a leg kick and Boban counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Boban lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Price at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vinnie Price dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Price lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Boban misses with a lunging right hand
and Price counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Price lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Donk. Price catches Boban right on the button with a cross. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Price!
Boban throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Boban throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Boban uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Price. Boban dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Price lands a glancing blow to the side of Boban's head. A looping hook to the body misses from Price. Boban does a little dance to reset his feet. Price falls off balance throwing a combination
and Boban counters with a nice low kick that buckles Price's knee momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Price throws a right and a left that Boban avoids nicely. Nice uppercut lands for Price. That snapped Boban's head back.
Boban throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Price was covering up waiting for the punch and Boban finishes the takedown easily into guard. Price wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Boban preventing the sweep. Boban thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Price looking for a sweep. Not yet Price, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Price trying to control the position here. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Boban postures up.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Price wants to sweep but no luck. Boban trying to control the position from guard on top but Price is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Boban stands and throws Price's legs to the side, diving into side control. Boban wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Price, who protects the arm well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boban trying to control the position but Price is working away. Boban controls the position. Boban working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Boban throws an elbow but Price slips to the side and avoids it well. Price is trying to get back to half guard. A lull in the action here as Boban stalls from top position. Boban tries to score with some ground and pound. Price controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sloppy strikes there by Boban. Price struggling a bit here. Boban working the ground and pound but Price is defending the strikes. Price really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boban. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. You can see the frustration on Price's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. What's Price going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle. Price tries to improve position but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mirko Boban dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Price fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Price stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Boban. Boban moves into the clinch successfully.
Price throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Boban tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Price avoids it. Boban tries to pull guard but Price holds him up against the cage and eventually Boban drops back down to his feet.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Price as Boban tries to tie him up. Price stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Price manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Boban wants to control from the top but Price keeps moving. Price working a defensive guard here.
Boban trying to control the position from guard on top but Price is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Price has his hands on Boban's head, controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Vinnie Price. Decent striking displayed by Boban there. Price throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Boban counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Price is staying active underneath Boban, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Boban works his foot free and advances to mount. Boban controlling from the full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boban is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Price has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Price! Price trying to control the position from guard on top but Boban is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Boban is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Price is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Price has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Boban is proving hard to escape from. Price won't allow Boban to sweep him here. Boban throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Vinnie Price wasn't active enough on the ground. Boban shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Price as he avoids it easily. Boban slips under a jab from Price. Price throws a jab but it's blocked by Boban. Price pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Boban misses with an uppercut.
And that's the end of the fight! Mirko Boban showed his dominance in that final round. I think Boban has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
