Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rulian Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray McVance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McVance has chosen Welcome to My Hood as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rulian Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ray McVance!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Radbod Blank and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McVance throws a head kick but Gracie moves out of range.

Gracie gets a clinch.
McVance misses with a knee strike.
McVance throws a knee to the head but misses.

McVance decides to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Gracie is trying to get an arm triangle but McVance is defending well.

Gracie decides to take the fight back to the feet.
McVance darts in trying to clinch

and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown. McVance fights it but they end up in guard.

Gracie displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from McVance.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Gracie swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and McVance is now in Gracie's guard. A big mistake from Gracie there, giving up the dominant position!

Gracie is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because McVance is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

We're going to have a standup here because Rulian Gracie wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

McVance is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch but McVance swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ray McVance seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gracie has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Gracie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McVance, pushing him back against the cage.

McVance tries to land a knee to the head but Gracie blocks with his arms.
Gracie tries to pull guard but McVance won't allow it.
Gracie drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

McVance closes the distance and clinches.

McVance connects with a nasty looking knee right to Gracie's face.
Gracie has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. McVance avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rulian Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McVance keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Gracie's efforts to push away.
Gracie has McVance pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. McVance manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

McVance has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gracie uses from the top position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McVance escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gracie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gracie passes McVance's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie decides to stand and escape the position.
McVance closes the distance looking to clinch

and Gracie counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McVance's guard now.

Gracie with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Gracie decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on McVance, up you get!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gracie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. McVance manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown. McVance tries to sprawl out of it but Gracie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McVance manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rulian Gracie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gracie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
