Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jimmy Rabi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steve Rogers!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rabi tries for a takedown but Rogers circles away easily
letting Rogers counter with a right hand.


It looks like Jimmy Rabi has been cut.

Rogers tries to sprawl but Rabi drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Rabi trying to pass the guard but Rogers defending well.
Rogers avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rabi.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Rabi lands a nice short elbow.
Rogers trying to hold on to Rabi's head to control him but Rabi postures up.
Rabi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rogers's head.
Rabi throws a strike but Rogers avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Rabi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Rabi throws a strike but Rogers rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Rogers stands and steps away. Rabi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Rogers wants to clinch up but Rabi keeps it at a distance.

Rabi drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rabi connects with a couple of short punches.
Rabi trying to control but Rogers is working from the bottom.
Rabi thows a big elbow that misses.
Rabi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Rogers is controlling Rabi's posture.
Rabi throws a strike but Rogers rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Rabi is looking to stand up but Rogers isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rogers circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jimmy Rabi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown by Rabi or perhaps it was just good defense by Rogers which made him look bad.

Rabi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rogers manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rabi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Rabi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rogers works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rogers looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rabi postures up in Rogers's guard and throws a big left but Rogers blocks it.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rogers is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rogers trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rabi's guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rogers trying to control the position from guard on top but Rabi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rogers won't allow Rabi to get back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Steve Rogers was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Rabi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rogers circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Rabi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rabi tries for a takedown but Rogers sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Rabi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rogers did well to prevent Rabi getting side control.
Rabi throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Rabi throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jimmy Rabi will probably get the nod.

Rogers swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rabi.
Rabi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Rogers counters with a crisp right hand that drops Rabi! Rogers lets Rabi back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Rogers manages to break the clinch.

Rabi gets caught flat footed, as Rogers shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rogers trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Rabi keeping moving, preventing Rogers from controlling successfully.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Rogers wants to get up but he can't break Rabi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Steve Rogers was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Rabi fails with the takedown

and Rogers counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rabi won't be happy with that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Rabi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rabi is trying to get back to his feet.
Rabi trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Rogers misses with the ground and pound.
Rabi is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Rogers asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Rogers stands up and beckons Rabi to his feet.

Rogers drops Rabi with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Rabi looks back up at him and smiles so Rogers waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rogers throws a head kick that misses.

Rogers closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Rabi has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rogers is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Rabi is trying to drag Rogers to the mat but Rogers just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Rabi is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rogers gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Rogers prevents a takedown attempt there.

Rogers ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rogers no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Rabi with a flurry of punches that miss.
Rabi throws and elbow that misses. Rogers uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rabi's guard. Nice move by Rogers!

Rogers dives in and scores a takedown into Rabi's guard.

and Rogers counters with a nice right hand that sends Rabi toppling to the canvas! Rabi scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Rogers finish him?!
Oh Rabi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rabi drops his hands momentarily and Rogers needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Rabi just on the top of the head. Rabi drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Rabi - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Steve Rogers!
