The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Maximus with that takedown attempt.
Maximus connects with a body shot that sends Skins's belly button to the back.
Maximus lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Skins circles away quickly and effectively.
A swing and a miss from Maximus.

Maximus looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Skins!

Maximus is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Skins is surviving well by controlling Maximus's body position as best he can.
Skins tries to reverse the position but Maximus maintains control.
Skins sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Skins pushes Maximus off looking to stand but Maximus dives back in and keeps control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Skins blocking the ground and pound attempt from Maximus.
Skins is looking for a sweep. Maximus is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Maximus drops an elbow to the side of Skins's head.
Maximus has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Maximus putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Maximus lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Maximus lands a big elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maximus working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Skins looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Maximus! Submission of the night perhaps?
