Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Leeroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vin Ner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bruce Leeroy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Vin Ner!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ner tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Good work by Ner as he checks the leg kick.
Leeroy throws a head kick that misses.
Bruce Leeroy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A lazy body kick from Leeroy
and Ner counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Ner avoids a kick to the body.
Leeroy cracks the inside of Ner's front leg.
Leeroy throws a body kick that misses.
Ner takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A nice inside leg kick there by Leeroy. That's going to slow Ner down.
Ner looks gassed!

Ner throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Leeroy was covering up waiting for the punch and Ner finishes the takedown easily into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Leeroy feints and then cracks Ner's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ner down.
Leeroy throws a wild body kick that Ner sees coming a mile off.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Leeroy. Ner shrugs it off though.
Ner avoids the head kick by Leeroy.
Ner chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Leeroy can pounce on him.
Leeroy misses with a head kick.
Leeroy fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ner.
Leeroy throws a nice inside leg kick.
Ner's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
The fight stays on the outside here - Leeroy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

enabling Ner to counter with a crisp jab.

Nice defenses there by Leeroy.
Leeroy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Leeroy tries to clinch but Ner is having none of it.
Leeroy throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Leeroy misses with a body kick.
Ner throws a solid leg kick but Leeroy takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Ner.

A nice leg kick lands there from Leeroy.
Ner takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Leeroy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Leeroy throws a half hearted mid kick.
Leeroy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ner takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Ner blocks a low kick nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ner scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Ner throws a poor cross that misses
and Leeroy counters with a leg kick.
Leeroy tries to land a front kick but Ner steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce Leeroy dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ner avoids the head kick by Leeroy.
Leeroy misses with a low kick as Ner jumps back.
Leeroy attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Leeroy tries to clinch but Ner moves out of range.
Leeroy tries a head kick but it misses.

Ner drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Ner looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Ner drops back looking for a leg! Leeroy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Leeroy manages to kick Ner off! Ner jumps back into Leeroy's guard.

Leeroy is trying to control the position but Ner postures up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Bruce Leeroy has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Leeroy throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Ner scores with a jab.
Leeroy throws a leg kick that is checked
and Ner counters with a straight right hand.

Leeroy misses with a leg kick.
Leeroy misses with a body kick.
Leeroy tries to work over Ner's front leg with a kick but Ner checks it.
Leeroy staying out of range there.

Ner closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ner lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ner content to stall in guard here.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Vin Ner has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Leeroy, right into the meat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vin Ner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Leeroy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Ner has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Leeroy chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Leeroy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Leeroy wants to clinch up but Ner keeps it at a distance.
Ner throws a leg kick
and Leeroy counters with a slapping leg kick.

Leeroy looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Leeroy is looking to slow Ner down with leg kicks.
Bruce Leeroy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Leeroy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Ner counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ner lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Leeroy circles away quickly and effectively.

Leeroy doesn't manage to clinch there - Ner circles away.

Leeroy fails with an attempt to clinch.

Leeroy wants to clinch up but Ner keeps it at a distance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ner throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Leeroy fails in his attempt to clinch.
Leeroy lands a nice looking body kick.

Ner shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Leeroy's guard.

Leeroy controls Ner momentarily but Ner frees himself.
Ner content to stall in guard here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Leeroy misses with a kick to the body

and Ner counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ner.
Ner is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Leeroy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ner on the ground.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Leeroy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Vin Ner wasn't active enough on the ground.
Good exchange - Ner coming out on top.
Leeroy wants to clinch but Ner slips to the side
enabling Ner to counter with a crisp jab.
Leeroy misses with an attempted mid kick.
Leeroy lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Ner fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ner cracks Leeroy with a good jab.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The crowd cheers as Ner lands an impressive looking overhand right. Leeroy doesn't seem phased though.
Ner throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Leeroy sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Ner scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bruce Leeroy.
I think Leeroy has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
