Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derpa Derp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Gaulterie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Derp bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gaulterie's head.

It looks like Paul Gaulterie has been cut.

Derp drops Gaulterie with a big left hand and mounts him. Gaulterie is in big trouble!

Gaulterie is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Derp punching from mount but Gaulterie doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Derp throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Gaulterie keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Derp sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Derp wants to free his trapped foot but Gaulterie is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Gaulterie is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Derp stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gaulterie swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Derp in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Gaulterie is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Derp throws and elbow that misses. Gaulterie uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Derp's guard. Nice move by Gaulterie!
Derp knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gaulterie on the ground.
Gaulterie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Derp striking off his back but it's not causing Gaulterie any problems.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Paul Gaulterie wasn't active enough on the ground.
Derp connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Derp cracks Gaulterie with an uppercut from hell and Gaulterie crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Derp's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Derp has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Derp decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gaulterie, up you get!
Nice straight punches there by Derp. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Derp.

Derp waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Gaulterie. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Gaulterie to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Derp wanted to stand there but Gaulterie had control of the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Derp accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Derp connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Paul Gaulterie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Derp steps in with a hook that catches Gaulterie right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Derp follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Gaulterie looks absolutely devastated.
