The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boia takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Boia tries for a takedown but Aurelio circles away easily
and Aurelio counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Rui Boia has been cut.
Aurelio throws a one two combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Aurelio catches Boia napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Boia to the canvas!
Aurelio stays in close to Boia's body and controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Marco Aurelio wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Boia tries for a takedown but Aurelio circles away easily
and Aurelio counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Boia thinking.
Boia looks gassed!
Boia's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Aurelio connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Boia scrambles back to his feet.

That has opened up Rui Boia's cut even more.
