The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Du Couteau moves out of range of the strikes.

and Van Vactor counters with a head kick that drops Du Couteau - he's looking to finish, following his stunned foe to the ground!
Van Vactor is looking to take a break and control but Du Couteau is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Van Vactor wants to stand but Du Couteau has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Van Vactor decides to return to a standing position.
Du Couteau on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Van Vactor. Van Vactor obviously looking to wear him down.

A head kick lands from Van Vactor that sends Du Couteau to the canvas. Du Couteau tries to scramble back to his feet but Van Vactor brings him back down into side control.
