Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ari Gold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mahdi Makungu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gold comes to the cage accompanied by All of the Lights. Makungu comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Nelly - Heart of a Champion kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Mahdi Makungu acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ari Gold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
17 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Mahdi Makungu!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makungu throws a left and a right that both miss
and Gold counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Makungu fails with a takedown attempt.
Makungu takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Makungu on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Makungu chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gold can pounce on him.
The crowd cheers as Gold lands an impressive looking overhand right. Makungu doesn't seem phased though.
Makungu fails to land with a series of punches.
Makungu misses with the combination.
Gold throws a nice outside leg kick.
Makungu uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gold.
Makungu blocks the body kick.
Makungu throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A jab from Gold misses.
Gold is looking to slow Makungu down with leg kicks.
Makungu throws a lazy uppercut
and Gold counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Makungu throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gold connects with a leg kick. Makungu looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Ari Gold is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gold throws an off balance right hand
and Makungu counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gold won't be happy with that.
Gold pushes Makungu away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Makungu gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Makungu tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Makungu looks gassed!
Gold is looking for a sweep.
Makungu working the ground and pound but Gold is defending the strikes.
Gold manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Makungu has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Gold sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Makungu defending well though.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gold is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Gold thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Makungu's head.
Gold is nestled in close to Makungu, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Gold prevents Makungu from improving his position.
Makungu is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Gold lands with a punch from half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gold thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Gold throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Gold winds up and cracks Makungu with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Gold throwing shots but Makungu is blocking nicely.
Makungu trying to hold on to Gold's head to control him but Gold postures up.
Makungu avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gold.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gold is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Gold throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Gold is trying to control the action in half guard but Makungu is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Makungu has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Gold. Oh but Makungu has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Gold goes limp - he's gone! Makungu jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
