PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Berkeley Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Goldbeer Nana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunt comes to the cage accompanied by I Gotta Feeling. Hunt has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Alex Goldbeer Nana will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nana avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Nana shoots in looking for a takedown. Hunt tries to sprawl out of it but Nana keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hunt manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A head kick by Hunt misses

and Nana counters with a shoot takedown. Hunt fights it but they end up in guard.
Hunt tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hunt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Nana thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Nana gets to his feet - Hunt follows without any prompting.

and Nana counters with a body kick that stops Hunt in his tracks momentarily.

Nana feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hunt wants to stand and escape but Nana is having none of it.

Nana stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hunt swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alex Goldbeer Nana was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Nana shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hunt's guard.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Nana is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Nana gets to his feet. Hunt looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Alex Goldbeer Nana has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Hunt fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Nana.
