Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Potemkin Buster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rick Welsh!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Welsh misses with a takedown attempt
and Buster connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Buster shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Buster was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Welsh is trying to escape the mount.

Buster is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Welsh gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Buster is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Buster decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Buster fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Welsh looks gassed!

Buster bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Buster is trying to get an arm triangle but Welsh is defending well.
Buster is looking to take a break and control but Welsh is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Buster is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Welsh is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Buster advances to mount.

Buster is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Welsh to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Welsh shrugs it off.
Buster will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Buster is working for a guillotine from mount but Welsh frees his head quite easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Buster trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Buster manages to capitalize on a mistake by Welsh to take his back!

Buster has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Welsh has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Welsh wants to escape the position.

Buster has managed to slip his arm under Welsh's chin. This could be all over... yep, Welsh is tapping out! Submission win for Buster.
