The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Laine drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

It looks like Royce Gracie has been cut.
Laine keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gracie's head.

Royce Gracie's cut is getting worse.
Gracie throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Gracie is trying to control the position but Laine postures up.

Laine got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Laine has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.

Gracie throws his legs up looking for a submission but Laine uses it to pass to side control.
Gracie gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Laine fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gracie, pushing him back against the cage.

Still in the clinch, Laine scores with a nice short uppercut.

Royce Gracie's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Laine has Gracie pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Laine pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Gracie tumbling to the mat - Laine dives into Gracie's guard.
Laine tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard.
Laine stands up over Gracie, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Royce Gracie's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
