Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Byron Derksen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Derksen might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mindless Self Indulgence- Bitches. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Meyer enables Derksen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Meyer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Byron Derksen.

Meyer fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Derksen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Meyer misses with a looping left.
Derksen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Meyer is fending him off so far but Derksen persists. Nope, Meyer circles away and we're back to standing.

Meyer closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Derksen changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Meyer fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Meyer counters with a crisp one two that drops Derksen! Meyer thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Derksen to his feet! Derksen is in big trouble!
