PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fred Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kitsune Tsuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kitsune Tsuki has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fred Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kitsune Tsuki!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Tsuki clinches with his opponent.
Stone is trying to break the clinch but Tsuki has him pressed against the cage.
Stone tries for a takedown. No joy.
Stone tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Tsuki's elbow.
Tsuki keeps control of Stone as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Stone has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tsuki is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Tsuki has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Stone uses from the top position.
Stone with a flurry of punches that miss.

Stone is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tsuki is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tsuki has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stone is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tsuki has managed to free his arm - good work.

Tsuki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Stone pulls his head out easily.

Stone winds up and cracks Tsuki with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are battling for position here. Tsuki manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Stone stands and throws Tsuki's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Tsuki looks gassed!
Stone wants to control but Tsuki is keeping him busy.
Tsuki wants to get back to his feet but Stone is dominant here and he's now got Tsuki's back!
Tsuki breaks Stone's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Tsuki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stone swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tsuki is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fred Stone dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Tsuki seems to be looking for submissions.
Stone wants to get back to his feet.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fred Stone. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tsuki tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Stone tries to break free but Tsuki pushes him back against the cage.

Stone goes for a takedown attempt but Tsuki pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Tsuki tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stone swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tsuki takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Stone ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Tsuki defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stone.
Stone closes the distance and clinches up with Tsuki, looking for a takedown. Stone pushes Tsuki against the cage but Tsuki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Stone is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Tsuki's half guard.

Stone looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tsuki with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Fred Stone overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Stone is nestled in close to Tsuki, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Stone is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Tsuki!
Stone can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tsuki is looking to escape.

Tsuki is trying desperately to improve position.

Stone jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Tsuki manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Tsuki tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Stone wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Stone cracks Tsuki with an elbow. That is naaassty.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


A nice combination there by Stone.
Stone looks to score with a jab to the body but Tsuki is just out of range.
Stone throws a series of punches but Tsuki avoids them all with ease.
Stone lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tsuki circles away quickly and effectively.
Fred Stone is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Tsuki shoots in looking for a takedown. Stone tries to sprawl out of it but Tsuki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stone manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Tsuki drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Stone manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Tsuki has Stone in his guard.
Stone is working Tsuki over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Stone wants to pass the guard but Tsuki is keeping the position.

Stone distracts Tsuki with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Tsuki wants to sweep here but Stone controlling him for the moment.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stone, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
