Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ted Party (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Edel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Party's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Final Countdown- Europe. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Party looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Party shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Edel as he jumps to the side.
Edel shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Party counters by clinching up.
Party fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Party. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Party tries to land knees in the clinch but Edel avoids the damage to the body.
Party goes for a takedown in the clinch but Edel prevents it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Edel has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Party uses from the top position.

Edel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Edel working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Party doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Party manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Party slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
