The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schutte gets tackled into the cage by Sonni. Sonni maintains the clinch.

Sonni's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mahti Sonni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looks like Mike Schutte has been cut.

Sonni scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Sonni moves nicely into side control.
Schutte really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sonni. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sonni creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Sonni works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Schutte tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Schutte is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Sonni postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Schutte in real trouble here! The ref calls for Schutte to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
