Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ogirdor Thay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kateen Veto!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veto lands with a nice body punch.
Thay closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Thay decides to stand up, so the ref orders Veto to his feet.
Thay has closed the distance and engaged Veto in a clinch.
Thay breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Thay closes the distance and clinches.
Veto jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thay walks away with a smile on his face. Veto gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Veto misses with a body shot.
Thay moves into the clinch successfully.
Thay jumps guard.
Veto wants to control from the top but Thay keeps moving.
Thay manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Veto manages to get himself to full guard.
Thay has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Veto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thay can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Thay stopping the sweep attempt from Veto.
Thay trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Veto bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Thay's guard.
Veto drops back looking for a leg! Thay is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Thay manages to kick Veto off! Veto jumps back into Thay's guard.
Thay looking to hit a scissor sweep but Veto is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Thay has his feet on Veto's thighs here. He's pushed Veto off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Veto screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
