Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Seth Anderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vitalii Bureac! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Bureac is working Anderson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Bureac trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bureac wanted to stand there but Anderson had control of the position. Anderson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Anderson is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Anderson has had enough of the clinch but Bureac keeps him there for the moment. Bureac has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Anderson regains guard immediately. Bureac wants to stand and escape but instead Anderson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Anderson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bureac is keeping the position for now. Anderson drops back looking for a leg! Bureac is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bureac manages to kick Anderson off! Anderson jumps back into Bureac's guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bureac can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bureac wants to stand and escape but Anderson is having none of it. Bureac keeping moving, preventing Anderson from controlling successfully. Anderson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bureac, up you get! Anderson throws a combination that misses and Bureac counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bureac. Anderson tries to break free but Bureac pushes him back against the cage. Anderson can't break the clinch.
Bureac drops down looking for an ankle pick but Anderson pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson wants to clinch and Bureac counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Anderson pushes Bureac off looking to stand but Bureac dives back in and keeps control.
Bureac is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Anderson still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Anderson has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bureac is pushing Anderson's head away, looking to escape. Anderson manages to hold on to the position though. Anderson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson is looking to take a break and control but Bureac is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Anderson misses with the ground and pound. Bureac is not content to let Anderson control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Anderson decides to take the fight back to the feet. Bureac circles away from the clinch attempt and Bureac counters with a shoot takedown. Anderson fights it but they end up in guard. Anderson wants to stand but Bureac is controlling the position. Bureac must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bureac advances to half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Anderson kicks Bureac off and gets back to his feet. Anderson moves to clinch but Bureac breaks away and Bureac counters with a shoot takedown. Anderson fights it but they end up in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson closes the distance but Bureac moves to the side and Bureac counters with a shoot takedown. Anderson fights it but they end up in guard. Bureac prevents Anderson from getting back to his feet. Anderson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Bureac circles away from the clinch attempt and Bureac counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Bureac lands strikes from half guard. Bureac scoring with strikes to the body and head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bureac wants to pass to mount but Anderson is defending the position. Bureac lands with a punch from half guard. Bureac wants to pass the guard but Anderson is defending well. Anderson pushes Bureac off and gets back to his feet. Anderson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bureac counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bureac has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Anderson works to full guard. Bureac tries to free his leg and advance position but Anderson is retaining full guard. Bureac is breathing heavily. Anderson wants to get back to his feet but Bureac is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Bureac is looking to stand up but Anderson won't let him. Anderson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Anderson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Anderson wriggles free and stands up. A momentary lapse in concentration from Anderson enables Bureac to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Anderson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson wriggles free and stands up. Anderson misses with a double jab
so Bureac counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Anderson pushes Bureac off and scrambles back to his feet.
Bureac is trying hard to land a takedown here. Anderson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Anderson wants to clinch and Bureac counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Anderson's guard now. This has been an exciting period of action! Anderson has his feet on Bureac's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Anderson tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Bureac decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Anderson's guard. Bureac loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Anderson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Bureac off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bureac moves out of range of the strikes. Bureac closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bureac lands in his opponent's guard. Bureac wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Anderson's closed guard. He's half up but Anderson has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Anderson pivots and extends the arm, Bureac falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Anderson! Well done that man!
