Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Diego Mariachi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodolpho Vasquel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Vasquel's choice of entrance music: Surviving the Times. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodolpho Vasquel!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasquel lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Vasquel lands a jab to the nose.
Mariachi closes the distance looking to clinch
and Vasquel counters with a three punch combo that has Mariachi backing up. Mariachi nods at Vasquel to acknowledge the strikes.

and Mariachi counters with a nice double leg into side control. Vasquel won't be happy with that.

Mariachi tries for a kimura but Vasquel is defending well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vasquel bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Mariachi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vasquel's guard.

Vasquel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vasquel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vasquel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mariachi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mariachi controls Vasquel momentarily but Vasquel frees himself.
