Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wild Wes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wild Wes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Simpson!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Simpson counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Simpson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Wes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Simpson defends well.

Simpson is looking to work some ground and pound but Wes has wrist control.
Wes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jay Simpson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Simpson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well Simpson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
