PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kirill Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Monkey Luffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown's entrance music is Splin - Moyo serdce. A fine choice. The key to victory for Kirill Brown has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Brown.
Brown misses with a double jab.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Luffy wants to control the pace but Brown is squirming around nicely.
Brown is trying desperately to improve position.
Luffy lands a nice shot to the head.
Brown can't escape the position.
Brown wants to control but Luffy is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brown knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Luffy on the ground.

Luffy lands a nice shot to the head.
Luffy wants to control the pace but Brown is squirming around nicely.
Brown is in a horrible position here. Luffy smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Luffy goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Brown turns into him and now he's in Luffy's guard.

Brown is fighting to break Luffy's control of his arms but Luffy is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Brown has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Luffy is proving hard to escape from.
Luffy not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Luffy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brown manages to get himself to full guard.

Brown can't keep his opponent in guard - Luffy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Luffy uses his free foot to push down on Brown's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Brown.

It looks like Kirill Brown has been cut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Monkey Luffy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Brown.
Luffy doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Brown counters with a low kick, right behind Luffy 's knee.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

A bone on bone clash there as Luffy blocks the leg kick.
Luffy shoots in and drives through. Brown sprawls well.
Brown tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Luffy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Brown was covering up waiting for the punch and Luffy finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Luffy passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Brown!

Luffy jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Brown manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Sloppy strikes there by Luffy.
Brown is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Brown wants to control but Luffy postures up.

Brown tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Luffy wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Brown regains half guard, as Luffy was trying to land strikes.

Luffy is working for a kimura but Brown is defending it quite comfortably.
Luffy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Brown does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Monkey Luffy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Luffy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
