PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Casey Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ford comes into the arena with For What It's Worth blaring out of the sound system. Carwin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Tool - Vicarious kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carwin moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Carwin walks into a left hand.
Carwin ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ford misses with a shot to the body
and Carwin counters with a nice uppercut.

and Ford connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Carwin feints and as Ford raises his hands in defense, Carwin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ford looking to control.
Carwin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ford is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Carwin has gone for a leg lock! Ford slips out almost immediately though and dives into Carwin's guard.
Ford advances to half guard.
Carwin tries to get to full guard but Ford has control of the leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carwin is refusing to be controlled, as Ford sits in half guard.
Carwin tries to roll over but Ford keeps him under control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Ford is looking for a kimura but Carwin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ford to get the leverage.
Carwin preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Carwin trying to hold on to Ford's head to control him but Ford postures up.
Ford prevents Carwin from improving his position.

Ford is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Carwin has managed to free his arm - good work.
Carwin is looking to control Ford's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Carwin avoid being mounted?

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Carwin gets back to full guard.

Ford drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ford jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Carwin wants to sweep here but Ford controlling him for the moment.
Ford stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carwin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Carwin pulls Ford in close to prevent any damage.
Carwin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ford!
Carwin thowing shots but they're missing.

Carwin is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ford is surviving well by controlling Carwin's body position as best he can.
Ford can't escape the position.
Carwin fails to move to back control.
Carwin prevents Ford from getting the reversal.
Carwin wants to control the pace but Ford is squirming around nicely.

Carwin is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Carwin extends the arm and Ford is forced to tap!
