PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hulk Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hogan has chosen Face The Pain as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gordon takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hogan throws a right hand that Gordon ducks under and follows up with a left that Gordon also avoids with ease.
Gordon tries for a takedown but Hogan circles away easily
and Hogan counters with a three punch combo that has Gordon backing up. Gordon nods at Hogan to acknowledge the strikes.
Gordon shoots and misses
and Hogan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hogan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gordon tries for a takedown but Hogan circles away easily
and Hogan counters with a series of strikes. Gordon will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Gordon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hogan tries to sprawl but Gordon drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Gordon works his way into side control.

Gordon is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hogan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Gordon goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hogan has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gordon but great work by Hogan.
Hogan misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Hogan connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Gordon some visible discomfort.
Gordon tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hogan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hogan tries to pass to full mount but Gordon defends it.
Gordon is refusing to be controlled, as Hogan sits in half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Gordon won't allow Hogan to pass to mount.

Hogan is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Gordon blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hogan.
Hogan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Gordon wants to control but Hogan is keeping busy.
Hogan takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are battling for position here. Gordon manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Hogan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gordon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hogan won't allow Gordon to sweep him here.

Gordon controls Hogan momentarily but Hogan frees himself.

Hogan content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Gordon has locked up a guillotine! Gordon's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Hogan is holding on here and Gordon must be using up a lot of energy. Hogan has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Gordon gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
