Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Melendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Melendez's entrance music is Kung Fu Fighting - Carl Douglas. A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as King checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Melendez throws a combination that misses
and Melendez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

King gets a clinch.

King breaks the clinch.
Melendez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Melendez throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling King to counter with a crisp jab.

King clinches up against the cage.
Melendez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
King lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Melendez prevents a takedown attempt there.
Melendez wants to break the clinch but can't.
King stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Melendez wants to get back to striking at distance but King won't allow it.

Melendez is trying to force a seperation but King has the dominant position.
King lands a shot to the body.

King successfully pulls guard.

Melendez got a little sloppy there for a moment and King has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Melendez has managed to get both his arms back between King's legs - danger averted.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

King has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Melendez doesn't defend quickly enough and King has managed to lock this one up! Can Melendez escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to King on a fantastic submission victory.
